How many square meters can you cover with 3000 tomatoes in 9x9cm pots? and 10000 flowers in 8x8cm pots? If you have 108m2 greenhouse only - is it enough?
And how many plants you can load into old ford transit if you are going to market. Whatkind of plants you need to take and which plants must stay at home. Customer needs?
How to grow tomatoes so that they can be sold within a week if they are 15cm tall right now?
They must look fat and ca 30cm tall for market. Is it possible?
How many plants you can water, pot or... per hour?
How to protect your plants outside if hail is coming? (greenhouse is full)
And more and more questions every day.....

Its already May, but we have every nightd cold temp. outside.
First farmers market was 1.May, but it was more promotional happening than market. Try to sell plants and flowers if you are sitting in the middle of snow :S
And because I haven't got any help from people over the world, our new greenhouse is in same condition  as it was two months ago. Sometimes miracles do happen, but it looks like not with me.

Weather forecast said that today night we have -5C, so I had to prepare.
And it is definately not last cold night - until end of May we have frosts here.
By the way... Please share my blog on facebook, even if you don't care about gardening-Maybe someone likes it!

I can't afford a greenhouse, so I built this.

-5C or more is coming

Today it was -2C outside and tomorrow will be -5C, Spring? Well... Usually after cold spring a cold summer is coming. Maybe I must buy a lottery ticket and then ...Tenerife is waiting!
Just kidding. I don't have money even for my greenhouse, so no Tenerife or similar. Never.
We have never been in a warm country, such like Egypt, Spain... But at least I can read about it from internet or books.

Yesterday no posts, only hard work. Today again tomatoes AND over 100 hanging baskets.
Pics tomorrow. I need so badly more time, yes it is not hard to hire someone for a week, but I need money for that. If  anyone in the world wants to donate - I will really, really appreciate that!
P.S. scroll down for pics from last week...

Tired.. but I will share at least some pics from today.

10 000 or more firs after first winter and some pines

Holy mole!

Spring is coming quickly, today we had +10C
But it's getting colder soon.
Someone said that our summer will be cold and rainy,
but thanks god - it will be short :P

P.S. tried to add "prinfriendly" button, but it wasn't so easy, so i will add it later.
I'm more gardener than IT guy :P

Again tomatoes... and some fossflowers went to pot.
Because it was suddenly dark, I had no time to take pics. So I decided to add a page where i write something about me and maybe another one where i share my thougths about ... whatever.
And a pic from past:

Today I'm potting tomatoes - 150 done, over 3000 waiting :(
Took a coffee break, but have to go back quickly.
As someone said: Time is money and money is not enough. Or something like that.
Trying to take some pics before darkness, too.

Now some pics:
working desk

Already potted 150, newspapers are helping to keep plants wet.
Cheap and working solution.

Today was first "warm" day and snow started to melt.
So I have another problem. Thats why I need a new greenhouse:

Old one is small as you can see from pics below, wet and can't be heated.

Middle.(almost full) It's a quick solution to keep some degrees above 0C

right side(almost full). Viola is pretty winterhardy.
At the end you can see perennial herbs.

left side(perennials, can't throw them out, because we have still 10cm snow outside)

Saturday, April 13, 2013

Yesterday I started to move paprikas(capsicum) to bigger pot, because some of them are already near to flowering:

Tomatoes went to another room to make space
and flowers(which can survive frosts) from that room to greenhouse where currently is ca. +2-+3C

Paprikas and boots.

As soon as you do something else seeedlings will go to threadlings :(
It happens sometimes so quickly. You check your trays at morning and there are nothing, next you check same trays at evening and they are already grown up to 5cm tall.

P.S. Weather forecast for next two weeks shows max +9C degrees and that for only ony day. Other days it will be more likely between -4C and +5C
P.P.S.  Fundraising still active: http://igg.me/at/greenhouseestonia/x/2924523 And if you can't contribute then at least share it on facebook please.
